Hi You all!! Welcome to our new
little cooking adventure here at Bargain Hoot.
We’re cooking our way through all those Pinterest recipes
we’ve been tempted to try. I hope you’ll join us!!…
…Do you have a bunch of saved recipes on Pinterest that are super yummy looking
that you’ve never tried? Well, many of us are in the same boat!
Each week we’re going to cook a pinned recipe and dish about it.
You don’t need to be a blogger to join in… just share a comment with us about
what you made and link to your food board if you want.
Tell us about the recipe you tried and how you liked it. Perhaps even give it a
rating, 5 pins is the highest. I’ll send you an invite to pin it to the group board….
….This week I decided to make a recipe that got several pins… it’s called
Cream Cheese Spaghetti Casserole and it came from Plain Chicken.
You’ll need to go there to get the recipe.
It’s super easy and we all really liked it!!
I asked my husband if he would be interested in having it again
and he said yes!! He really enjoyed it and would give it 5 pins.
I have to confess… I kind of goofed up on a couple of things when I made this recipe.
The recipe calls for 12 oz. of spaghetti and I boiled the
entire box of noodles. A box is 16 oz.
I didn’t realize I made the mistake until I was mixing it all together.
Needless to say….I ended up making some adjustments.
The other thing I messed up on, was not having fresh grated Parmesean
Cheese. I substituted the ground up type in the green container.
Here’s a photo of the finished recipe- minus the parsley.
I served it with a fresh garden salad and garlic buttered Parmesan crescent rolls.
Found the roll recipe on Pinterest.
For dessert
I served a brownie ice cream cake that I made in a
Silicone springform pan just like the one in the give away.
It’s so easy to use. See how it just peels off.
I love that you can bake the brownies right down in the pan without worrying that they’ll leak out.
I topped the batter with oreo’s like I saw in this recipe on pinterest.
Then I went for that added Buckeye Ice cream bonus!! Score!!
Thanks for visiting!! I hope you tell us about your recipe experiences from Pinterest!!
PS. If you’re a blogger let me know if you’re interested in sharing a link… I’ll add a link up.
I’m linking up to At the Picket Fence.

I have made 3 attempts so far with 2 successes and 1 let down so far.
The first thing I tried was Cake Batter Dip http://pinterest.com/pin/82190761919945459/ (fantastic with graham crackers, animal crackers, or directly spoon to mouth, but tasted better after it sat overnight). The next Nutella Cookies http://pinterest.com/pin/82190761920515362/ (which I might add didn’t last very long). Lastly and sadly was Copy-cat Chic-fil-a Bites http://pinterest.com/pin/163748136421484525/ (had go back and find this pin since I ended up depinning it). While it was not terrible, I wouldn’t say that it tasted like something you would get from the restaurant. But I have no worries, for us Northwest Ohio folk there will be a new Chic-fil-a opening soon in Perrysburg…so I can still get my fix.

Where on earth did you get Buckeye Ice Cream?! We used to make buckeyes when I was a kid, growing up outside Chicago. I haven’t had one in more than 20 years!!
I love your Cooking thru Pinterest idea. I have a bad habit of pinning and forgetting 🙂

I know it’s getting late in the day, but for one… all my recipe attempts have been this afternoon and this evening and 2.) first chance I’ve had to post! 🙂
Ohhh… that spaghetti would be a big hit in this house I’m sure! This will be a fun weekly event I’ll be looking forward to (I’m always cooking and posting and pinning haha).
For all three of the yummies I made today, they’re all pinned on my “Yummies” board at http://pinterest.com/veronicad2k/yummies-to-try-recipes-drinks-more/
I’ve also updated my blog with them (my name should be linked 😉 )
For an afternoon snack, I made garlic chicken puffs from TidyMom.net (very much just what it says… garlic and cream cheese mixture with shredded chicken wrapped inside small crescent pieces). Yum! (http://pinterest.com/pin/90916486198536191/)
For dinner, I made a chicken fajita rice dinner 🙂 Added sour cream and lettuce and it was so gooooood (http://pinterest.com/pin/90916486198536309/)
For dessert, I finally used (some) of the egg roll wraps I’ve had in my freezer forever. I actually made two versions inspired from different pins that I’d found.
A strawberry cream cheese variety (inspired from http://pinterest.com/pin/90916486198533193/)and a chocolate hazelnut Nutella version (inspired from http://pinterest.com/pin/90916486198533172/ – will be making more likely tomorrow! (Hubby was in bed and needless to say they didn’t last long)
Hope I did this right! 🙂
