Pinterest Craft Club

Thank You for your interest in the Pinterest Craft Club

This Pinterest club is open to anyone who is interested in crafting.

The purpose is to encourage and

help give each other that extra accountability…..

We all love Pinterest and pinning all those fantastic ideas, but sometimes actually making

ourselves do one of those fun projects takes some togetherness and encouragement.

That’s where the whole Pinterest craft club idea comes in…..

November 3rd - Pumpkin Theme

We are going to make Fabric pumpkins…Velvet pumpkins with real stems are very popular and oh so cute!

We’ll be making a knock-off version. The photo below shows an example of what we’ll be making.

I’ll put up a supply list soon. You decide what fabric you want to use. Begin saving any

nice pumpkin or gourd stems. ( stems can get moldy so I would suggest soaking them

in a bleach solution and rinse well so no bleach residue is left on the stem.

Dry the stem out completely). If your stem is clean and looks good there isn’t a need to do this step.

The main thing is…you just want a clean dried out stem. I baked mine in the oven for a few hrs @150 degrees

to dehydrate it and kill mold….that might have been overkill, but I’m just trying to play it safe!

Here is the supply list:

1/2 yard of fabric * I changed this from 1/3 to 1/2 yard

1/2 yard makes 3 pumpkins. ((If you are interested in velvet

let me know.…. you can buy some from me Thursday night.

the cost is $3.00 for velvet fabic per pumpkin.))

3 stems

A needle and heavy thread.

Bag of dry beans or rice

 I’ll provide the rest.

NOVEMBER 17th:

 - Coffee  filter Wreath

and Bulb Wreath  …..you pick which one.

Dec. 1st :

Tall cone Trees

Jan./Feb

Sock Monkey’s

March

Pennants/ buntings

April

I look forward to this fun crafting adventure!!

Here’s the link to those trees Rene’: http://acreativemomma.blogspot.com/2010/12/tissue-christmas-trees.html#comment-form

Let me know what you think. I also thought about using those paper mache cones that they sell at hobby lobby or michaels instead of making them out of poster board. Waaaay easier lol

Meggan everyone loved the trees. I think we’re going to make those and wreaths at the next meet up….

Hi last year I decided to try and make some velvet pumpkins. I tried to find some velvet clothing at good will to use but the colors were only black blue or maroon. So I found a fabric warehouse that sold upholstery velvet and got some. They turned out great, I sold several then last year made more and showed them to a few shops and now have orders for more. Unfort the fabric warehouse has no more of the popular colors which means I have no more for next year.
REal velvet is expensive usually $20 plus a yard, any suggestions? Also this year I collected stems after the fall and it had rained so alot of them are blackish. I tried a bleach bath but they didnt lighten up much so can you tell me how to do it right? I have an order for 60 by Sept.
Give me your email address and Ill show you some that I made, they turned out great! Lisa
