I love Valentine’s Day and all the cute things it brings….like Target little deals from the front of the store bins. I gathered up some Valentine goodies to make up a couple of baking gift baskets. I’m putting these together for ($10-$12 ea.) to show that you can bless someone special even if you are on a budget. Don’t be afraid to divide your items up where you can to keep your cost down. I have two special people in mind and I can’t wait to give them a basket just to let them know how much I appreciate them!
Basket making process:
- Gather your items and make sure they fit in your container.
- Add filler to the bottom of the container, use whatever is on hand…newspaper, brown paper bag etc. …..this is important because it helps lift your items up from the bottom of the basket so they can be seen nicely.
- next cover your filler, in this case I used tissue.
- Now place your items in the basket. I’m going to be making a front facing basket so I’ll be placing the taller pieces in the back
- Wrap with cellophane, I embellished it with a white ribbon and tag along with a cookie cutter. Here are both baskets along with the favors. Each favor has decorative sprinkles, cookie cutter or spatula, along with some heart shaped dove chocolate candy.
So with the items purchased I was able to make 2 Valentine gift baskets and 4 favor bags.
