Those of you who know me probably know that I enjoy working on events, I especially love helping others find ways to save on those special occasions. Here are a few little tips from a vintage backyard wedding I spotted The groom wore a suit and the groomsmen wore coordinating pants, shirts and ties. The bridesmaids dresses are from Charlotte Russe! Buying dresses from a spot like Charlotte Russe is going to really trim $$$. The whole style and look of the wedding had a casual victorian vintage feel with a peach and gray color palette. The bride and her cousin embellished the dresses with romantic victorian looking jewelry and hair pieces that were unique for each bridesmaid. She liked the idea of creating custom accessories inspired by Marquis & Camus for a fraction of the price. Her and her cousin went out and bought a handful of odds and ends: charms, pearls, chains, elastic, feathers and flowers…….as well as a few “base necklaces” from forever 21. She hand made silk roses and coffee stained tattered tool to add as needed. After much thought on what to create with all this “goodness”, they decided on 3 necklaces, 2 bracelets, and two flower hairpieces. Didn’t they do an amazing job!! The bride is an illustrator and designed her own invites too. Photos Erica Schneider
OK, I spotted this video on how to hand make silk flowers and decided to include the link. I laughed because the music kind of freaked me out at first, it tones down 🙂 It is interesting.
PS. The old video is no longer available so here is an updated version. enjoy!
