I was over at my mom’s house last night and I couldn’t help myself, I had to snap a few photos of her cute as can be home all decorated for Christmas!! The first year after my dad passed away she didn’t decorate…. which I totally understand. It has been over 2 years, so it’s good to see her decorating again. I know my dad would be so happy for her to have some Christmas decorating cheer in their home…. 🙂
In case you haven’t heard… we have snow You’all!!!
Here’s a photo of her tree. She wanted to make it smaller this year, so she removed the whole bottom section. Her only problem was that it looked like there wasn’t a trunk, and the branches were sitting right on the floor. The solution was to prop it up on something. This galvinized tub that we used in the past for our old tree… worked perfect!!
I talked her into painting her floors and walls all white in her upstairs……here is a sneek peek at her room …. 🙂 she loves it!!! The downstairs floors are next. This bright white look is so perfect for her little cottage home, it makes it so bright and cheery!!
PS..excuse the earlier posting, I didn’t even realize I sent it until it already went out. Obviously it was a big blooper with a Capital “B”…..

This looks great. My Dad used to do the same thing on the front door with the roping – I wanted to do it on our house this year but our Home Depot store was sold out & our local goodies store (Stew Leonards) wanted $45 for 18 feet!!! What?! We ended up with 2 blow ups from Home Depot – I chickened out. 🙁 LOVE your Mom’s door though – it looks so festive.
Also – we only have a slight dusting that arrived last night in lower NY. Send some snow down here!!!

How beautiful her cottage is! Love the decorations, the floor, the furnishings. Wow! Glad that she is feeling more like decorating. I know you will miss your Dad, I miss mine, but glad everyone is in the Christmas Spirit this year.

Your mom’s cottage is as charming as yours Rene. I see where you got your eye for style. That snowy scene on the front porch is so pretty.
