Miss Figgy has been a part of our home for the last 8 years. She is a beautiful live ficus tree that we purchased from a local greenhouse for approx. $50.00. That might seem like a lot, but she was close to 6 feet tall when we got her..
Did you know…she actually helps the air quality of our home. Watch the video at the end of the post for more information about using live plants in the home and how they improve the air quality.
Ivy must be back in…. I never had good luck with mine. It always ended up with spider mites!!
Check out these photos from Pottery Barn.
Isn’t it fun to cut blooms and branches from the yard…especially when they are free!
Happy Days fans might remember when Ralphie or was it Potsie gave his dance date a flower stem from the yard that ended up having a bee inside…. lol that was a funny one 🙂
Note to self: Make sure cut flowers and branches don’t have bugs and bees…it’s not a good thing 🙂

What a great and helpful post. I love the look of live greenery in the house, but have no luck with the plants. I am willing to give it another try! Perhaps a terrarium would work. Your pictures are gorgeous, in fact, I think I share one with you which I have in my inspiration file. So glad to find such a great blog to follow!

I have to laugh! We, too have a ficus with a name! Mr. Ficus! We have had him for 15 years and he needs to be replaced…because his leaves have turned all sticky. He is a huge part of our living room and just seems to scream “welcome”! I love bringing the outdoors in!

We have a tree in our living room too! And a lemon tree in the bedroom..it smells amazing! They both go outside in the summer, and move back inside for the winter.
