Some of you asked questions about the paint-able bead board wall paper I pasted to my laminate.
It’s from Wall Doctor and can be purchased at Graham and Brown. It’s $30 a roll and comes pre- pasted.
I really like this paper, it has deep groves and looks very real.
Here is a close up shot I took so you can see the groves. The paper looks much more realistic in person. I’m kind of persnickety and it fools me 🙂 ( I should try and be a bit more persnickety about photos) I want to warn you that the surface is kind of soft and foamish like. If you’ve ever touched or bought dimensional wall paper you know what I mean. If you are curious about the texture…just go to one of the home-improvement stores and look for paint-able wall paper and feel it:)
I noticed that Martha Stewart has a paintable beadboard wall paper at Home Depot. It has 5 star reviews so you might want to check it out here.

I know you’re super busy with a huge blog, but I hope you can help me with a few questions. I’ve looked everywhere online for answers so I’m getting desperate. When I looked at beadboard wallpaper at Lowe’s, I could make dents in it because of the foamish texture. Do those dents come out? Is it less foamish if I paint it? I have kidlets and I dread the thought of going to all the work of putting this up and then having a bunch of divets in the wall because the wall is so squishy.

Honestly, I would only use this in areas that don’t get a lot of use. I put it on the backs of my built in cabinets and the back splash.
I wouldn’t use it in an area that gets alot of traffic. It seems like it would tear easy. The dents do come back. I never even painted mine.
I think paint would help some, but I would still be worried about it getting banged up easy.
Sorry, it is a great product, but in my mind, only for certain situations.

Thanks so much for your ideas. I found a non-foamey beadboard wallpaper at Lowe’s and it looks good without the dent issues 🙂

Laura, what brand did you get? I was just going to buy the Martha Stewart Living brand from homedepot.com to put in my daughter’s bedroom…but it’s a foam as well. If you can, let me know how your experience turned out. Thanks!
