I recently saw some chocolate peanut filled bunnies and I was so inspired, I decided to make a few myself. So I was off to the cake and candy store in the pouring rain. I have to say the owner of the candy store is the most task oriented female I have ever encountered. …she’s all about business.. kinda reminds me of the soup Nazi 🙂 It’s almost a little bit scary going in there, but as long as you stick to business and don’t ask any questions you’re good 🙂 I have to say, this little project took a bit more time than I anticipated….. but in the end it was well worth it!
The steps are pretty simple….melt your chocolate….. and paint/ coat the inside of your mold. stick in the frig to set, hold it up to the light to make sure there aren’t any thin spots..if there are re-coat those areas…. you don’t want the filling to break through.:
Make the filling and fill the molds, leaving about a quart of an inch left at the top to add more chocolate:
If you are from Ohio you know what the Buckeye filling tastes like :0
2 sticks butter
1 c. peanut butter
1 – 1/4 pounds of powder sugar
mix up and use for the filling…I will half the recipe next time.
I wrapped these funny bunnies up in a clear bag with a cute tag for some special friends 🙂 One of them might be reading this and if she is… she knows all about the candy store 🙂
The tag actually doubles as a book marker and is from one of my favorite invitation designers Anna Bond. She made a special collection for Martha Stewart and it is actually for a library baby shower. I thought the book marker and book plate were even cute for Easter so I decided to use the book marker as a tag.I think it would be really cute to use the bookplate and add it to a favorite Easter book. Click Martha Stewart to find the download. More about the baby shower later 🙂

LOL @ the clip from Seinfield. I love that. Thanks for sharing the recipe for the filling. I may try that one instead of the one I used last year. Now to find more of my dairy-free nut free chocolates again.
