Making a wedding vow to your husband is a good thing, but do
you ever make other vows to yourself that have the phrases
in them like “I’ll never” or “no one will ever” “we’ll never”
I heard a short message this past week on vows and it really caught
my attention. The minister said….
that vows are usually based on hurts and fears and are usually
proclaimed as a form of protection. Interesting.
The bad thing about vows is they can hold us back from God’s best for our lives.
A vow can be made by a young girl who says… I’ll never find someone
who really loves me so she settles. It might be something you’re working on
and you think you’ll fail so out of fear you give up.
I can think of countless examples.
My personal challenge is to be careful with the words I speak…..
Put aside past hurts and fears…be patient and stay open to
Gods will and best for my life..
Have a beautiful Sunday~ 🙂

Rene, love this. I totally know how inner vows can stop the plan of God in your life. Sometimes we need to break the power of those vows in our lives to be free. Jesus had made us Free, now we just have to choose to be free : )
God bless and love your blog
