I used to drool over Pottery Barn catalogs and the pages of
my décor magazines until I recently challenged myself to stop drooling and
start DIY-ing! I’ve been blogging my adventures in finding frugal fabulous-ness
and I have some fantastic projects up my sleeve to share with you soon.

Framed nautical prints are timeless home décor but prints
can retail for over $100. I recently
bought some matted frames from Walmart for only $12 each, downloaded
free nautical pictures online, and made them black and white with
Picmonkey. I then printed them out on my home printer and you’d never know by looking at them framed they

weren’t costly photo prints!
Not too shabby for $12! With such a minimal investment, this is a great way to update your decor or change artwork
seasonally.

I recently saw an incredible wood wall art piece on a Boutique home
décor site featuring a world map.
I loved the look but didn’t appreciate the $500 price tag! With some
scrap wood, a map template, and stain I made my own version. This was an easy DIY that anyone can do
with a little patience!

Do you love the Land of Nod wall art? An hour and some
acrylic paint were all it took to create this knock-off of one of their canvas wall prints.

If painting isn’t your cup of tea but you still need some
art for a child’s room how about framing some pages from a favorite picture
book? I bought some IKEA NYTTGA frames for $1.99 each and framed pages from an
Eric Carle book to create this artwork for my baby’s nursery.

But I am IN LOVE with the map stain board art. Hot snot!
Did you but the template or make it? (where or out of what/how??)
How did you hang it… or is it a “leaner”… I’ve got some plank art that’s been leaning for six months… WUPS! Hefty french cleat into studs to carry the weight maybe??
