Last year, I posted a really cute fall wreath….. it was a sister wreath
to a wreath I gave away 🙂 It had a really pretty star-burst design….or would
you call it a sunburst design?
Here’s my attempts to recreate it for Thanksgiving.
If you want to make your own….
Just get a bunch of tamale shells, a wreath form, and a hot glue gun.
You need to tear the shells to give them a narrower shape.
Now you just start hot gluing them everywhere…. Â jk…Â you do several rows.
Here’s an example of the bottom row. By the time you get to the top, you just wrap the tamale  totally over
the wreath form.
I hope that makes sense.
 ***** Revision
Directions-
1. First, wrap the wreath with husks to cover the base of the wreath.

Love it! I was just looking at your post from last year to get ideas and saw that one. You did a great job- it’s so pretty! Thanks for the how-to pictures!

Hey, BT. Great hearing from you!!It took me a while to figure out how to add the pdf file with the pattern. I’m s-l-o-w-l-y learning.

I love your ‘sunburst’ wreath, but I’m confused. Wish there were a few more pictures. I can’t figure out where you go after the ‘bottom’ row. How many rows total did you use? On the 2nd row do you essentially glue on the front of the wreath form (so no folding of husks)? I would love to make this, but need a little more guidance. Thanks!

I’ve done another wreath. First I covered the wreath form with cornhusks. I wrapped them all the way around so the straw didn’t show through.
Then I started at the bottom as in the picture. I did two rows of the bended. Once you get to the top part of the wreath you start laying them flat basically 4-5 layers total. You can glue a few here and there…. if you see some empty spots. I hope that helps 🙂
