Several Christmases ago, I gathered some sweaters I was no longer wearing and tried to think of ways to repurpose them. This red sweater, turned into a pillow, is one example. This cutie turned out to be one of my favorites. This design is incredibly convenient because it has a simple way to add and remove an insert because of the current functional buttons. This pillow process cost me nothing because I already owned an insert from a different pillow that fit perfectly. All it requires is cutting the parts of the sweater off that aren’t needed and then stitching a top and bottom seam, which could quickly be sewn by hand. Repurposing pillows as inserts for new pillow designs creates multiple-season options and saves money and storage space. Seasonal pillows take up a lot of room. If you’re looking for a specific color or design for a pillow cover, I’ve also thrifted and bought something new on sale for covers. Anything from plaid coats or skirts can be repurposed for pillow covers. I share other repurposed sweater ideas like Christmas stockings, ornaments from sweater arms and parts, and decorative Christmas trees from cut-up sweaters.
Have a blessed and creative day! xo
